Phil from IT

Phil from IT is a thought-provoking reflection on various recollections of the everyday lives of women of all ages and backgrounds.

Over six hour-long episodes, Phil from IT shows the depth of the real life hatred, contempt and disgust of women at the hands of misogynist extremists.  Imagine the pure exhilaration Patrick Bateman (American Psycho, 2000) feels as he chases the woman down the stairs wielding a chainsaw laughing hysterically; then face yourself with the catatonic fear and agonising terror of Sarah Tobias (The Accused, 1988).

Bateman goes on to live his life unaffected whereas Tobias is left humiliated and ridiculed after having dared to hold men accountable for their crimes.

Emotional and stomach churning, the horror in Phil from IT is made all the worse because this happens.  It happens everyday. You know people like this, you might not know it, but you do.

Agreed, it isn’t all men, but you won’t always get shot playing Russian roulette … would you still take the risk?
